Six New Mariners® Arrive in Port. Joining the Mariner® series for 2000 are six newly designed live bait & jig rods - three conventional models and three spinning models. Each of these rods features a lighter tip and butt section, plus improved overall action for fishing with a variety of live baits and lures. These rods offer quality features such as aluminum oxide guides, graphite reel seats with stainless steel hoods and cushioned foam fore and butt grips. Coventional models come with a tough, lightweight nylon gimbal. These Mariners® also look as good as they fish, with attractive charcoal grey blanks accented with black, red and gold wrappings and sealed with a durable epoxy finish. Available in 12-20 lb., 15-30 lb. and 20-40 lb. class models, ranging from 6', 6'6" and 7' lengths.
Bullet Proof Glass. All Penn Mariner® rods - including stand-up, conventional bait
& jig and spinning models - offer solid fiberglass construction that's so tough it's practically bullet proof. These rods deliver the strength and lifting power you need to battle the toughest saltwater
game fish, yet they're so lightweight you can fish all day long without fatigue. So go ahead and take your best shot. Penn Mariners® are built to take it.
Rise to the Occasion. Grab a Mariner® stand-up rod and take the toughest tuna, king mackerel or bull dolphin to school. Or show a stubborn wreck-dwelling amberjack or grouper who's boss. The series offers nine stand-up models ranging from 5' 6" to 6' 6" in length with varying actions. Longer models provide extra clearance for fighting fish around outboards, trim tabs and hulls or jockeying for position with other anglers during a hot bite. All Mariner® stand-up rods feature fully underwrapped, heavy duty braced aluminum oxide guides and tip tops that perform when the going gets tough. For added comfort and fish fighting performance, Mariner® stand-up models feature extra long cushioned foam fore grips, heavy duty machined aluminum reel seats and Penn's Slick Butt® with gimbals and detachable butt caps. |
