Bob Schneider Yap® Lures
Bob Schneider's famous copyrighted group of blunt nosed trolling lures are the most
popular Marlin, Tuna, Wahoo and general purpose Big Game Lures in the World
today.
These lures made famous by winning tournaments and accomplishing
outstanding fishing achievements the world over, have been designed in
numerous sizes and styles to cover the broad range of fish and fishing
conditions. Experience has shown that the majority of big game fish
particularly billfish, strike the eye of the lure. Also as a result of his 13
years residing and fishing on Andros Island in the Bahamas, Bob Schneider
recognized that a big red eye was an important fish strike enticer, and
consequently has perfected his eye which is now a major characteristic look in
all of his lures. So successful has this eye been that most major lure
companies are trying to incorporate our eye in their lures. But there is
still no substitute for the real thing. The Yap® Lures are all straight
running lures which break the water surface with a pop, gather an air pocket
on the leading edge of the blunt nose, then dives below the surface pushing
the air pocket in front of it. This action generates that all important air
pocket which expands and collapses causing that fish enticing low frequency
pressure wave. This pressure wave and the resulting stream of light
reflecting air particles trails behind the lure for a distance up to 30 feet.
After staying submerged for 2 to 8 seconds, the blunt nose eventually drops
the air pocket where upon water pressure acting on the face of the lure causes
it to swim to the top, vibrating the tail skirts as it comes up to start it's
unique action all over again.
